We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse Educator to join our team in Port Macquarie on a permanent full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing the clinical knowledge, skills and confidence of our nursing workforce.

About the Role

As a Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating education programs that support clinical excellence and professional development across our workforce. You will work closely with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to promote evidence-based practice, maintain compliance with professional standards, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver clinical education programs, training sessions and professional development initiatives.
  • Facilitate orientation and onboarding programs for new nursing staff.
  • Assess learning needs and develop education plans tailored to individual and organisational requirements.
  • Provide clinical coaching, mentoring and support to nurses across various healthcare settings.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and support the implementation of current clinical guidelines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of education programs and implement continuous improvements.
  • Assist with competency assessments and mandatory training requirements.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
  • Maintain accurate education records and training documentation.
  • Collaborate with managers and healthcare professionals to identify workforce development opportunities.

Essential Selection Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Nursing, Clinical Education, Health Education or a related field (or working towards completion).
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical education, staff development or nursing leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging education programs for diverse clinical environments.
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
  • Experience within aged care, community health, disability services or acute care.
  • Experience with learning management systems and electronic clinical documentation.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
